Volunteer Activities
We join a farmer in Kamisu, Ibaraki-ken and help out with rice farming.
We offer manpower with a cheerful attitude and a smiley face.
Our goal is:
To know the hardships and dignity of rice farming, and to know the preciousness of food, to be exposed to nature and to have an experience that leads to Japanese culture.
To consider CSR and think about the things we can do, and to develop approach towards our future community services.
Do you know the process of rice farming?
Most farmers sow seeds between March to April and grow seedlings.
Plants seedlings between April to May, mow grass in the summer, and harvests in Autumn.
Meanwhile, controlling the water in the fields is another important task.
Our host farmer grows Akitakomachi and Koshihikari.
We enjoy helping out and watch the seedlings grow, and the delicious rice after the harvest season.
